Pinnacle Construction removes load-bearing walls in San Francisco homes to create more open kitchens and living areas. We install temporary supports, the beam and posts specified by the engineer, and any foundation support shown in the plans.
A load-bearing wall supports part of the house above it. Before the wall is removed, temporary supports are installed. We then install the beam, posts, and any foundation support specified by the structural engineer.
We work from the structural engineer's drawings, coordinate questions that come up during construction with the project team, and schedule required inspections with the city and engineer. The design team remains responsible for the drawings and permitting.
Most load-bearing wall removals are part of a kitchen remodel or a plan to connect living and dining areas. We complete the structural work, move affected utilities, and repair the walls and trim so the opening feels finished.
The engineer determines what the wall supports and prepares the plans; we build from those plans.
Support the structure safely while the wall comes out.
Install the beam and posts specified by the structural engineer.
Add foundation support below the new posts when it is required by the structural plans.
Construction completed from the structural plans, with required inspections scheduled through sign-off.
Complete the opening so the new space feels finished, not patched.
Move plumbing or electrical lines that pass through the wall when they are included in the plans.
Coordinate the wall removal with the kitchen or living-space remodel around it.
